At its regular July meeting, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees approved an increase in meal prices for the 2008-2009 school year due to increases in food costs.
The changes in breakfast prices are as follows: elementary school, a change from $0.90 to $1.00; intermediate school, a change from $1.00 to $1.10; and high school from $1.00 to $1.10. The price of adult/non-student breakfasts will change from $1.40 to $1.50. The lunch price changes are as follows: elementary school, a change from the current price of $1.65 to $1.75; intermediate school, a change from $1.90 to $2.00, and high school, a change from $2.05 to $2.25. Adult/non student meals will change from $2.65 to $2.75. These prices will be effective August 1st.
The Klein ISD Food service department, despite rising costs, will continue to provide whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables each day to encourage good health for students and staff members.
