The VAC Program
Welcome to the Klein ISD VAC web site. The Vocational Adjustment Class (VAC) allows students to get their academic credits toward graduation through work performed for area employers.
Full-day VAC students do not attend classes at their home campuses. Instead, they work at least 30 hours per week and stay in communication with the VAC Coordinator, who monitors their progress and job status. Partial-day VAC students attend some classes at their home campuses, then go to work mid-day. They are required to submit written documentation of their work hours.
A focus on job skills, career development, and strong social skills helps students present themselves as competent, goal-oriented young people.
The VAC Coordinator helps each full-day student with the day to day aspects of their jobs as well as more long-range planning, such as creating resumes, seeking additional training, etc. We hope to offer students opportunities to create a plan that helps them reach whatever goals they set for themselves.
