Over the course of the year in Pre-K, our goal for your child is to develop a solid foundation of skills and knowledge that will make Kindergarten a place to excell.

Personal Development:

Language:
*Increased vocabulary

*Letter Recognition, upper & lower case
*Sound/Letter correspondence

Writing:
*correctly writing First and Last name
*drawing with increasing detail and accuracy
*writing letters and numbers

Math:
*accurate counting (up to 20)
*numeral recognition (1 - 10)
*patterning
*quantity recognition (1 - 10)
*graphic organizers

Science:
*cause/effect
*natural cycles & patterns
*question/test or research/answer

Social Studies:
*symbols (flags, currency)
*leaders (presidents)
*systems (laws, voting)
*structures (city, state, country)
*customs (holidays)
HOMEWORK
Please practice tying shoes, name writing, as well as letters and sounds. It is always a good idea to read to your child for at least 15 minutes each day. Winter is a great time for your child to practice buttoning and zipping all on their own.
