The 3rd, 4th and 5th grade music classes are spending a significant time in music class applying their music skills in playing the recorder. They are expected to apply not only such basic musical concepts as rhythm and pitch, but also more advanced interpretations, note reading and composing skills.
Grades K thru 2nd grades will be exploring their voices and learning basic musical concepts such as such as reading and rhythms. They will be introduced to and developing the hand signs associated with the solfege scale.
We will be continuing the music curriculum with the added resources of the student computer stations. This is a much appreciated resource for exploring music and its many concepts more in deeply than we have been able to do in the past.
Students may refer to the downloads page titled "Memory Songs" to find the current song that the classes are working on.
Many grade levels are expected to identify the note names on the treble clef staff. They may practice at home using the following web address;

Students who receive three conduct marks in a nine weeks grading period will have their conduct grade for the nine weeks lowered to an "S." Six total conduct marks for the nine weeks will be an "N." Nine conduct marks for the nine weeks will result in a "U."
