Theiss has one of the finest PTO's in the Klein community. Parents are very involved in and work with the school as partners in their child's education. Students enjoy many activities that promote positive reinforcement based upon academics,citizenship and character. Our PTO provides learning opportunities that involve helping and supporting others within the Klein community.

P.T.O. stands for Parent-Teacher Organization. The purpose of the PTO is to promote the welfare of children in school, home, and community; to enrich the education of children; and to foster communication, understanding,cooperation, and a sense of community among the students, parents, faculty, and school administration. Membership is free at Theiss and we welcome our parents and grandparents to participate in this volunteer organization.

The Theiss PTO meets on a regular basis. The monthly meetings are held at Theiss in the school library from 2:00 to 3:00. The organization funds cultural arts, sponsors various student events, organizes volunteers and conducts fundraisers which have provided, among other things,new technology equipment,books,the Star Reading Program and playground equipment.

Anyone wishing to nominate an additional candidate(s) should submit to the Nominating Committee Chair (Shanna Downing – shannadowning@yahoo.com) a petition containing the candidate’s name, the office for which she/he is being nominated, and the signatures of 15 PTO members no later than February 3, 2008. If a position(s) remain uncontested as of February 3, 2008, the candidate(s) will be presented to the Board at the February 8, 2008, PTO meeting. The current Board will approve those candidate(s) as the officer(s) for the 2008-2009 school year. A ballot, with instructions, for all positions with multiple candidates will be sent home in the Wednesday folder of the oldest child on February 13, 2008.
