Today in science class we took a quiz on the 3 states of matter. Each student received a print out of their grade and updated their RED Gradesheet. We talked about physical and chemical change. Your homework is to complete the physical/chemical change worksheet on page 30 and 31 of your interactive notebook and to get your parents to sign your RED gradesheet.

Today in science class we talked about Charles Law and Boyles Law. Your homework was to complete the worksheets on Gas behavior and changes in state.

Today in science class we took a quiz on physical and chemical change. We talked about what will be on tomorrows test. You graded your quiz in class, so be sure you have written that grade on your orange gradesheet. Your homework is to study for tomorrow's science test. Click on class notes to see the study guide. You will also find some study materials on documents and handouts.

SECOND SIX WEEKS - WEEK TWO
Monday October 15th, 2007
Today in science class we started a rotation measurement lab. Each day you will complete one stations work. 3 of the stations have homework included, you may choose to do the homework on any day of this week. All lab reports and homework is due at the end of the week. At the RED station you were measuring the volume of a liquid, at the ORANGE station you are measuring the mass of different objects, at the YELLOW station you are measuring the length of different objects, at the GREEN station you are measuring the density of cubes, and at the BLUE station you are completing 3 gizmo lessons. Any work not completed in class, should be done at home.

Today in science class you completed your fifth rotation. All homework practice sheets are due today (ruler, graduate and balance) and your lab reports are due on Monday. I may allow a few minutes of class on monday to collect any data that you did not finish collecting in class.

Today in science class we wrapped up our measurement rotation labs. You completed any work that you hadn't finished from the five stations from last week. All of the "homework" from last week was due on Friday, but was collected today. All of the lab reports from last weeks labs are due tomorrow.

Today in science class we reviewed how to use a balance, how to use a graduated cylinder and how to read a thermometer and a ruler. We practiced measuring items and we used virtual tools to practice measuring. Your homework is to complete the density worksheet.

Today in science class we reviewed how to measure items. We practiced calculating density of objects. We played measurement olympics! Your homework is to practice measuring items. I gave you some websites that will help you measure. We will meet in the science lab tomorrow to take the first half of your measurement test (you will actually measure things!).

Today in science class we took the first half of the measurement test. We went to the science lab and measured Mass, Volume, Length and Density. Tomorrow we will meet in the computer lab to take the remainder of the test.

Today in science class we took the second half of the measurement test. We met in the computer lab and answered questions about the metric system, measurement and tools used to measure. You have no homework, but you should be sure to help out your parents around the house!

Today in science class we made 2 flow charts on Force and Motion. We also watched 2 short video clips on Newton's Laws of Motion. Your homework is to complete the workbook pages 29-35 by Wednesday.

Today in science class we continued to work on our flow charts as a team. We looked at the vocabulary words that might help us understand the flow charts. Your homework is to have workbook pages 29 - 35 done by tomorrow.

Today in science class we took 2 quizzes over the workbook pages 29 - 35. You were allowed to use your workbook on the quizzes, so I hope that you had your pages complete. Your homework tonight is to have a safe and happy halloween.

Today in science class we started a week long lab on Force and Motion. You completed your first of five stations today. Officially you have no homework, but all of the work from all 5 stations is due on Monday!

Today in science class students turned in all of the lab work from last weeks labs on force and motion. Students had 5 assignments total to turn in.Gradesheets should be updated and students should know their grades on 3 of the 5 assignments. Your homework is the crossword puzzle and Vocabulary is due on Thursday.

Today in science class we graded our crossword puzzles and we watched a short video on motion. Then we did an activity called rolling along, where we measured the speed of rolling ball. Your homework is to complete the rolling along worksheet and the vocabulary is due on Thursday.

Today in science class we went to the computer lab. You had a few things to accomplish. First, you needed to make sure that your student exploration guide from the Force and Fan Carts Gizmo is saved to my drop box. Second, you should work on the remainder of the Force and Motion Webquest. Lastly, you should add some slides to your sixth grade power point. Your vocabulary is due tomorrow.

Today in science class we collected the vocabulary for a grade. This is your last daily grade for this six weeks. After that we reveiwed for the major grade test that you are taking tomorrow over Force and Motion. Remember that the 2 best places to study for this test is the force and motion webquest and the Newton's laws of motion power point!.

Today in science class we took a MAJOR GRADE TEST on Force and Motion. Grades are available online at www.learn.rice.edu. Please share these grades with your parents as this is the last major grade of the six weeks and can greatly effect your average in my class.
