Today in science class we started are really amazing cool fabulous science experiment! I also gave each group of students a set of "stuff" that you had to classify (organize) based on it's features. Your Chapter 5 workbook pages are due on Thursday. Pre-AP and GT students have a major grade lab report over the Egg-Speriment due on Friday January 25th, 2008.

Today is REPORT CARD DAY! Pre-AP and GT students had a major grade lab report due today. We spent a few minutes writing up our paragraphs on the gummy bears in class today. After we wrote the paragraphs we talked about bacteria and completed a bacteria assignment. You have no homework over the weekend.

Today in science we are talking about food chains, food webs, predators and prey. This will lead us up to a fun activity tomorrow. We are also continuing our look at science TAKS skills. The homework for tonight is the worksheet on Energy in the Ecosystem, which most of you started and finished in class.

Today in science we finished our Water Cycle Drawings and we reviewed for the science test tomorrow. The homework for tonight is to get your honesty contract signed by a parent and to study for the major grade test. Students should study in the book, in the workbook, worksheets, our class website and the biology webquest that we worked on in class. Students who turn in the biology webquest tomorrow will receive bonus points on the test. Pre ap students also must return the project gradesheets tomorrow, signed by a parent.

Today in science class we collected the signed honesty contracts and passed out the Major Grade take home tests. Take Home tests are due on Friday. We also took a Normal test on chapters 5, 6 and 8. You can see these grades on learn.rice.edu after the test is completed. I also collected signed project gradesheets from Pre-AP students.

Today in science class we started a lab to examine if trees really do put water in our atmosphere. We also did a couple of demonstrations to help us understand some of the concepts about water. You have no homework but your Take Home Test is due on Friday.

Today in science class we took the Chapter 12 Workbook quizzes using our workbooks. Hopefully you completed your workbook pages so that they were helpful to you on the quiz. Your homework is to complete "Air Around You" worksheet and to make sure your workbook pages that were due today are done. Any student not completing the workbook pages and the worksheet will not participate in tomorrow's lab. Please make sure that you are dressed appropriately for lab. Also, school picture packages went home today. Please be sure to review the package with your parents and bring either the money or the pictures back to school tomorrow.

Today in science class we met in room 402 the science lab. We completed a lab called "The Candle Lab". We experimented with what gasses are needed for fire to burn and what gasses are in our atmosphere. We also experimented with how long it will take for a candle to burn out when placed inside different sized jars. Your homework is to complete the worksheet called "Layers of the Atmosphere" also, if you have not returned your picture money or your pictures, please return them tomorrow.

Today in science class we met in room 223. We are working on a student made brochure of the layers of the atmosphere. Students will be working on this project for 2 days in the computer lab.
