Tardy Procedure Notice to Parents and Students

Class time is very important. To maximize as much instructional time as possible it is critical that classes start on time.  Students are given five minutes between each class period to take care of personal needs and make their way to their next class.  It is important for students to make a plan to visit their locker and not try to go to their locker between each class period.

 A student is tardy if he/she is not in the classroom and seated when the tardy bell rings. Unless the student has a pass, the teacher will tell the student that he/she is tardy and record the tardy in GradeSpeed. If a student misses more than 15 minutes of a class without a pass, he/she will be considered absent for that class period and subject to further discipline.

 If a student has locker or hall problems that student will need to find an adult to help them with their problem and get them to class. Administrators and teachers are in the hallways during each class change.

 Each day a report of students who are tardy for four or more times will be generated. These students will receive the consequences listed in the table below.  The tardy process will start over at the beginning of each six week grading period.
