1st Nine Weeks Project
Parents,
Your child will be choosing a book to read and creating a character due OCTOBER 19th. This is a short and fun way to share great books the students have read independently. Should you think the book your child chose is too easy or too difficult, please send it back to school with them and I will have them select another.

A handout with directions will be in the Tuesday folder (9/11/07). Please put the directions in a safe place!

The "paper" folding directions are simply an example of what the students can do. Please take the time to have fun with your child and really put imagination into the projects. Feel free to email me with any questions.

2nd Nine Weeks Project
It is time for another project.
Make a poster to show the authors' purpose in writing.
See directions in the Tuesday Folder 11-13-07. You may also download an extra set of directions here.
All projects are due 12-03-07.
3rd Nine Weeks Biography Project
Third Grade Language/Social Studies Project

HOME: Your child may read the biography at home.
Students are allowed to take notes on their book at home for the project. Please help your child find an empty cereal box and bring it to school for the project.
After the box is covered and facts finished at school, students will give a presentation of their research. Your child may practice their presentation at home in order to do the best job possible. Props and costumes will be allowed for extra credit.

SCHOOL: Students will choose the biography of a person of interest to read.
After reading the book, students will do the project in class. They will cover the cereal box with paper and add their research. The teacher will introduce a format for the report.
Students will present their research to the class.

Beginning date: All books will be in hand before the beginning of the second semester.
Project date: Projects will begin in class on or before January 28, 2008.
Presentation date: Presentations will begin in class January 30, 2008.
