SCHULTZ TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to TAKS Specialist, Cathy LeJeune for becoming our 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. LeJeune works with our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers, helping them to guide our students towards a successful academic year, using innovative labs and activities.

In addition, Mrs. LeJeune has organized Science Lunch Theater, in which she meets with small groups of 5th grade students during their lunch periods. They spend this time in a relaxed atmosphere where they have mini-lessons and discuss many of the science concepts that 5th graders must master on the Science TAKS test.

Mrs. LeJeune also spends a great deal of time organizing and sponsoring our 5th grade Safety Patrols, who do a great job keeping Schultz Elementary students safe and orderly before and after school.

Teachers and students alike love working with Mrs. LeJeune and her positive attitude is a joy to be around! We are very proud of Mrs. LeJeune and feel that she is most deserving of this honor of being named Teacher of the Year at Schultz Elementary.

We are so proud of you, Mrs. Lamb!!
Ms. Jane Lamb, music teacher at Schultz Elementary School, will be honored as the Crystal Award winner by the Spring Branch Education Foundation and the Houston Chronicle. This award recognizes teachers who make a difference for students.
Ms. Lamb gives students the gifts of appreciating music, enjoying music, and the ability to make their own music. As a music educator with over 30 years of experience, she will lead the Schultz Shining Star Orffestra at the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) annual conference. Schultz Orffestra was one of three elementary instrumental groups chosen to perform at this major conference.
Beyond the Klein District, Mrs. Lamb is known for writing music books for elementary music classrooms and writing arrangements for percussion ensembles. She has also published books of original music for kindergarten students. In addition, Mrs. Lamb also serves as a presenter at prestigious music educator events.
WAY TO GO SCHULTZ!!!
We did it again!
This is the second time SCHULTZ ELEMENTARY was listed as one of the BEST schools in Texas!!!! You don’t have to take our word for it; read the December issue of Texas Monthly. In this month’s issue, the magazine ran an article on The Best Schools in Texas. An independent research group from the University of Texas reviewed all Texas schools, including their demographic data and history of test scores over the previous years. This is great recognition for a staff of teachers and paraprofessionals that demonstrate excellence in what they do everyday, students who continually work hard to perform at the highest levels, and parents, volunteers and PTO who continually take on a partnership role in helping all of us to achieve our goals.
