The audition involves reading notes from the staff, clapping rhythm patterns from flashcards, and playing a short tune on a xylophone. The audition tune will be sent home prior to the audition so that students may have a chance to practice. Chess Club
The Schultz Chess Club is open to students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th who maintain their grades and E/S in conduct. Our club allows students the opportunity to learn chess and improve their strategic thinking skills. We also promote good sportmanship while encouraging new friendships outside the grade level. Our Chess Club is sponsored by Mrs. Dolores Barron
Schultz Patrols
We are proud to have a special group of students working as Schultz Patrols each year. Patrols work in the cafeteria, halls, and at car pool. In addition, they raise and lower the flags, assist children in and out of cars, help children with breakfast, and report to the adult on duty in their area. Often they escort a child or adult to a particular place in the school, or lend an ear when a little one needs a friend.
In order to qualify as a Patrol a student must be in fifth grade and have satisfactory grades and conduct. The term is for one semester, but some students choose to work the entire year. Students completing a semester will receive a certificate and a pin at the awards' ceremony in May.
If you have questions about the Schultz Patrol, please contact Mrs. Cathy LeJeune, TAKS Specialist and Patrol Coordinator.
