All students (grades 2,3,4,& 5) will be required to purchase a planner for $5.00 from our school store. This will help with organization and parent communication regarding daily homework and assignments.

Over the summer, hooks are being installed under the whiteboards in each 5th grade classroom so that you may hang your backpacks during the day. Because of the number of students in each class and the 5th grade body sizes, we have made a decision to establish some guidelines for backpacks. We are sharing this with you now - before next year's school supplies are purchased.

Effective with the 2012/2013 school year, all 5th grade backpacks must follow these specifications or they will not fit on the hooks:

• No backpacks on wheels or rollers
• All backpacks must be no larger than 16 inches by 13 inches (this is a standard size backpack, not an extra large one)

If everyone follows these guidelines, we can fit all the students' backpacks on the hooks and out of the way of the general classroom traffic. Thank you for your cooperation.
