TAKS, Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, testing occurs in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades each spring. In 3rd grade, students are tested over math and reading. In 4th grade, students are tested over math, reading, and composition. In 5th grade, students are tested over math, reading, and science.

TAKS tests test the TEKS, which are the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. These are located on the TEA website along with past tests. You may access the website at www.tea.state.tx.us/

Be sure to check the teacher web pages frequently and make a point to talk to your child about their school day. Ask what was most interesting instead of "What did you learn today?" You may get more information!

We are working hard as a team of faculty and staff, parents, and students to keep our rating as Recognized or to improve to Exemplary this coming school year.

We are also rated on our yearly progress. This is a part of the No Child Left Behind act which is a Federal program. At this time we are making the progress we need to close achievement gaps.
