TAKS, Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, testing occurs in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades each spring. In 3rd grade, students are tested over math and reading. In 4th grade, students are tested over math, reading, and composition. In 5th grade, students are tested over math, reading, and science.

TAKS tests test the TEKS, which are the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. These are located on the TEA website along with past tests. You may access the website at www.tea.state.tx.us/

The night before the test should be used to play and relax. Everything your child needs to know has been taught. Completing an online test the night before testing can tire your child out for the actual test the next day. Have fun together as a family and make sure your child gets a good night's rest and eats a healthy breakfast!

We are working hard as a team of faculty and staff, parents, and students to move our rating to Recognized this coming school year. Together we can achieve our goal.

We are also rated on our yearly progress. This is a part of the No Child Left Behind act which is a Federal program. At this time we are making the progress we need to close achievement gaps.
