Investigate Using the Process Skills
Classifying: grouping things according to similarities or differences
Observing: using the five senses to find out about objects and events
Measuring: developing and using appropriate units of measurement for length, area, volume, time, weight, and temperature
Inferring: explaining an observation based on available evidence, but is not a direct observation
Communicating: using the written and spoken word, graphs, drawings, diagrams, maps, or tables to transmit information and ideas to others
Experiment: a test or trial carried out under controlled conditions in order to investigate something… the process of testing
Variables: conditions that can change during an investigation to affect the outcome
Control: objects or conditions serving as a standard of comparison for testing the results of a scientific experiment

Results: observations or measurements obtained by investigation
Conclusion: an opinion or explanation based on experimentation
