PTO Information
Rise to the Top with Roth PTO!

The Roth PTO strives for an open line of communication. This year we will provide a monthly newsletter, flyers, mass email program, save the date form, the website and phone calls in order to keep everyone informed of volunteer opportunities, programs, and special events. There are several new and exciting changes to our school, and our main goal this year is communication. We will send home a monthly newsletter and several flyers, keep our website up to date and make phone calls in order to keep everyone informed of volunteer opportunities, programs and special events. There are several ways to volunteer: library, teacher luncheons, reader, art and music appreciation, bulletin boards, teacher appreciation, kid’s appreciation, 5th grade appreciation, carnival, field day, clinic helper and directly helping your teacher with paper work such as, cutting, stapling and sorting.

When you volunteer to be a Homeroom Mom, you get to know your child’s teacher, their friends and have a sense of fulfillment in being involved in your child’s classroom. In addition, you get to work with the teacher in planning the fun activities for the two parties of the year.

The PTO can only be as successful as its family of members, so please join us in helping our children’s precious years of elementary school become wonderful memories in the future.

Should you have any questions or suggestions please contact any board member. We welcome your ideas and want to become familiar with every member of our Roth family. We look forward to a wonderful year.

HOW DO I JOIN?
Dues are only $5.00 per family. You may send cash or checks in the attached envelope with your child anytime during the membership drive. During the drive, there will be a Membership Wall where we will display your child’s name along with their teacher’s name. Awards will be given to the classes with the highest percentage of participation. Please be sure to list all of your children and their teachers so that we don’t miss any awards.

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY DUES?
By joining Roth PTO, you will be contributing to the overall budget for the 2007-2008 school year. Membership dues make up only a small percentage of our overall budget. PTO provides many things through our budget such as student incentives, popcorn, snow cones, field day gifts, pizza parties, classroom parties, teacher appreciation and several other activities. In addition we provide many educational resources such as teacher grants, enrichment programs, music and art appreciation and technology updates. The final budget will be presented for approval at the first PTO meeting. All paid members will be entitled to vote on issues requiring membership approval. You will also be receiving a magnet with Roth Elementary name, address and phone number to have at home for easy access.

WHEN ARE THE MEETINGS?
Roth PTO holds two general meetings during the school year. The first meeting will be before Open House on August 29th. Dinner will be served. We will introduce the board members and discuss the budget and agenda for the year.
The second meeting will be at the Spring Open House.

HOW DO I GET INFORMATION BETWEEN MEETINGS?
A PTO newsletter comes out the second Tuesday of each month. It will contain all of the important dates for the upcoming month, budget updates, student news, and information on upcoming events. In addition, you will be provided a directory with the Board members emails and phone numbers, if you wish to contact us throughout the year with any questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact us at any time; we will strive to have an open line of communication with all parents and students.

We are looking forward to a great year at Roth Elementary!!
