Principal, Mrs. Carol James
A native Houstonian, Mrs. James graduated from Sam Houston High School and Texas Southern University. She earned her master's degree from the University of Clear Lake and her administrative certification from Prairie View A&M. Mrs. James' first years in public education were as a teacher in Houston ISD. She joined the Klein ISD as a kindergarten teacher at Nitsch Elementary. After 10 years in the classroom, she became an administrator at Eiland Elementary School and Kaiser Elementary School before returning to Nitsch as principal. Mrs. James and her husband have two children that were Klein students. Mrs. James enjoys traveling, reading, and watching the travel channel!
Associate Principal, Ms. Julie Barrett
As the child of a military officer, Ms. Barrett traveled to many states and countries attending twelve different schools by the time she graduated from high school in Virginia. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Texas A&M University and her Master's Degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Trinity University in San Antonio. She is certified in Special Education, Elementary Mathematics, and Administration. Her administrative certification was earned through St. Thomas University. Ms. Barrett taught for twenty-three years in grades three through twelve prior to becoming an administrator at Nitsch in 2006. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University.     

Ms. Barrett has three children, all of whom graduated from Klein High School. Her youngest son is in college in Texas.  Her oldest son is a graduate of Texas State University and Fordham University in New York City. Her daughter graduated from Randolph Macon Woman's College in Virginia and Glasgow University in Scotland. She now lives in Glasgow with her new husband.   In the very few moments during which Ms. Barrett is not studying, she loves to garden, read, fish, explore digital photography, travel
, and spend time with her family.  
Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kathy Rachal

Although Mrs. Rachal was born in Texas, because she also is also the child of a military officer, she went to school in many different places in the United States and Germany before graduating from high school in Tacoma, Washington. Mrs. Rachal studied Elementary Education at Centenary College of Louisiana and earned her Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Centenary, as well. Ms. Rachal has taught Kindergarten through Seventh Grade as both classroom teacher and Reading Specialist.


Mrs. Rachal taught for 14 years in Shreveport, Louisiana, for ten years in Klein ISD, and is beginning her fifth year as Assistant Principal at Nitsch. Mrs. Rachal and her husband have a 15-year-old son at Klein High School. For fun, Ms. Rachal likes to read, watch old movies on television, and spend time with friends and family.
