Hi! I'm Mrs. Shea, and I teach sixth grade Language Arts. This is my fifteenth year at Doerre Intermediate School. In the past, I have taught both 6th and 7th grade Language Arts as well as French, but this year I am dedicating myself exclusively to 6th grade L.A.

Major grades comprise 60% of the student's overall average. L.A. major test days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Daily grades account for the remaining 40% so it is extremely important that students keep up with their daily assignments and make-up work when they are absent.

We've got quite a year ahead of us. We will focus on spelling, grammar, writing, development of higher-level thinking skills, and of course, reading. We will read many short stories and several novels. All around, it will be a year of great growth and discovery for all of us. We will visit many lands and make many new friends through our readings. I look forward to the adventures that await us!
