Teaching is a Blessing!
I feel blessed to be teaching Kindergarten; especially since my own children are entering teenage years. I love teaching this age because children are like sponges; they are so eager to learn and just absorb everything!! And they are much smarter than we even give them credit for!

I have been teaching for 16 years and have my bachelors in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Development and a certification in Kindergarten. I began teaching in Spring ISD and taught until I had children of my own. I stayed home and became a "stay at-home mom" until my youngest went to Kindergarten. I have two kids: a daughter, Megan, in 9th grade and a son, Connor, in 6th grade. I loved staying at home with them and enjoyed helping out as a volunteer when they were little.

I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for 17 years. He is the offensive coach on my son's football team and encourages our children to do their best in academics, sports and everything they do.
I taught first grade for 5 years, third grade for 3 years, fourth grade for a year and Kindergarten for 7 years. I have loved each grade that I have taught. I can't imagine leaving Kindergarten to teach another grade...it is just too fun!

In Kindergarten, the main life skill that I teach is respect. I think that respect is something that we can't live without and I want to instill its importance in my students and in my classroom. We will be talking about respect for ourselves, others, adults, and the world in general, as well as our environment. So, if you hear your child talking about this, please ask them to tell you why respect is so important. We will be reinforcing this all year long!

Please feel free to contact me at any time. I enjoy seeing you as you come to school to eat lunch with your children!
