Welcome! |
We have had a very successful first nine weeks of school. Mrs. Mathews had joined our team of teachers. We are thrilled to have her on our team! The six fifth grade classes are working so hard at the learning tasks at hand!
The math and science classes are learning and working so hard. Fractions will be the main focus in math this nine weeks grading period. Science classes are learning about renewable and nonrenewable resources. The laboratory activities are exciting and fun. The second focus this grading period is “States of Matter.”
Social Studies unit of learning will be the American Revolution and the Constitution of the United States. Students will be part of history as it “comes alive” in the class.
Reading classes are reading a lot of literature books. Reading clubs and groups are discussing elements of reading. The library reading program is getting everyone in 5th grade excited about reading!!!
Fifth graders are part of many different extra activities before and after school. Listen for the orchestra kids learning to play their instruments. The Destination Imagination groups are creatively problem solving. Chess club meets on Monday mornings. The music students are preparing a wonderful Holiday program!
