Metzler Huskies - Working Together as a Team
Save Your Pop-Tabs!
Metzler students and staff save the pop-tabs from soda cans as a service project to help the Ronald McDonald Houses at the Texas Medical Center. Collection boxes are located in the Metzler library and in the cafeteria. The pop-tabs we collect will be taken to the Ronald McDonald House where they are used to raise funds for items needed by families staying at either the Ronald McDonald House or the Ronald McDonald Floor at Texas Children's Hospital. Last year Metzler students collected 16 gallons. As of May 3, we have collected 15 gallons. Way to go, Huskies!

Abitibi Paper Retriever
Metzler participates in the Abitibi Paper Retriever® paper recycling program. We have 4 bins located off the carpool lane in the front of our school. This is a year round program, so don’t stop this summer, continue to keep recycling your newspapers, magazines, flat cardboard boxes, catalogs, office paper, and mail in Metzler’s Abitibi Paper Retriever® bins.
(Tell your neighbors, too.)
Cartridges for Kids
Save the Earth and help us earn Ca$h!
Thank you parents and Huskies for your support of the “Cartridges for Kids” recycling program. This is a year-round program here at the Metzler Library, so we will gladly take those old cell phones, PDA’s, iPods, ink cartridges and digital cameras. Your participation in this program helps bring in funds to support the library as well as helping to keep harmful products out of landfills. Thanks to your donations, we have received $179.70 this year. Way to go Huskies!
