Our WRITER'S WORKSHOP includes:
-Independent writing time
-Editing
-Revising
-Conferencing (with peers & me)
-Publishing
(Not all pieces will make it to publication.)
In most cases, only a rubric and explanation of the assignment will be sent home. Student's writing will be placed in a portfolio to track progress. Parents are welcome to set up a conference to review their child's work at any time.
WRITER'S NOTEBOOK
The WRITER'S NOTEBOOK includes:
-place for students’ independent writing
-preserve ideas for future conversation and writing.
The writer’s notebook is not limited to print. Students may include sketches, photos, diagrams, artifacts, or other material that represents the writer’s thinking and can be used in the process of writing.
