When we started our garden, no one thought far enough ahead to ponder what might happen to the garden when we recessed the 2 weeks for our winter break. Nor in our haste to plant our seeds did we foresee all of the rain that we would get for the weeks following that planting.

With more rain than was needed for our seeds, we did manage to find a silver lining! A valuable lesson was learned by students about erosion and weathering. Because of rain and neglect over the holidays we had to redo our garden and transplant the plants that had survived. The students were excited to see the transformation of our garden after transplanting the surviving plants of lettuce, radishes, beets and one turnip plant.
