Gifted and Talented |
The Office of Advanced Academics has adopted a district-wide testing timeline this year. If you would like to refer your child for Klein’s Gifted and Talented Program, please stop by th campus and pick up a referral packet from the counselor. The deadline for returning the packet is September 24. If you have questions about referring your child for G/T, Cynthia Galindo, Instructional Officer for Advanced Academics, will be presenting a parent workshop called “Should I Refer My Child?” in early September. Please check the Advanced Academics website for location and time. www.kleinisd.net/default.aspx?name=iss.ci.gt.ident
Ability testing will take place in the fall and achievement testing if necessary will be in the spring semester. All kindergarten students are given an ability test in the fall, so it is not necessary to refer your kindergartener at this time.

***SECURITY*** |

*VISITORS MUST HAVE I.D. Klein ISD has recently installed a new visitor identification system in the front office of our campuses. This system is capable of producing a picture visitor badge in a matter of seconds. It will also allow us to identify registered sex offenders who come to our campus. Effective immediately, all visitors will need to produce a photo I.D. (driver's license) that can be scanned. Visitors who refuse to comply with this policy will be denied entrance into the building. Volunteers who have had a background check and have a picture I.D. at the volunteer desk may use that badge for entrance. At the end of each day, the system identifies those visitors still in the building; therefore it is important that all visitors sign out when departing. |

Drop-Off and Dismissal Safety |
For the safety of all of our students, please do not use cell phones while driving on the Kuehnle campus, especially when dropping off and picking up children. Signs are now posted on campus to remind everyone of this important safety rule. |
