Coming from a family with a rich lineage of educators implies that education was always a priority in my family. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in radio/television communication I began my professional career as a broadcast journalist. After several years working as a television news producer, I found my true calling in education. I was fortunate to teach broadcast journalism and communication applications at the secondary level for eight years prior to joining the Krahn and Kohrville elementary families. I hold a Masters of Education in English and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University.
In my current role as school counselor, I have the privilege of working with students, staff and parents as a support person. I work with students individually, in small groups, and entire classes on topics such as problem solving, bullying, self-esteem and social skills. I enjoy my career as an educator and look forward to helping your child grow successfully.
