A good principal:
Recognizes teaching and learning as the main business of a school
Communicates the school's mission clearly and consistently to staff members, parents, and students;
Fosters standards for teaching and learning that are high and attainable
Provides clear goals and monitors the progress of students toward meeting them;
Spends time in classrooms and listening to teachers;
Promotes an atmosphere of trust and sharing;
Builds a good staff and makes professional development a top concern
Is flexible
Keeps kids as the focus of every decision
Has the desire to be a "learner"
Cassandra Christian received her BS in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro Georgia. She has a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A & M University. She has taught elementary grades for six years. She enjoys working with the students of Kohrville!
Vicki Bland received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University and her Master's in Administration from the University of St. Thomas. After serving nine years as a classroom teacher and eight years as a music teacher, she is excited to be part of the administration team at Kohrville!
