Registration Requirements |
Kindergarten - Age 5 on or before September 1 of current year.
First Grade - Age 6 on or before September 1 of current year.
Proof of residence in the Klein ISD - A lease agreement with a bill, light, water, gas bill, or earnest money contract with your name and address is acceptable. Telephone bills cannot be accepted.
TB skin test needed - Students who have resided outside the United States within the past year must have proof of a TB skin test (PPD) within the past year with a positive/negative result documented 48 to 72 hours after testing. If the student has a positive TB test and the student has no symptoms, he/she must show proof of a scheduled appointment for chest X-ray. Documentation of a negative chest X-ray and evaluation for preventive therapy must be presented to the school immediately after the appointment.
Birth Certificate - For both kindergarten and first grade, students must present an original or certified copy of birth certificate and documented immunization record.
Required Documents - Students entering all grades must present a withdrawal form or current report card from previous school, proof of identification, and a documented immunization record. Klein will send for cumulative folder information.
Transfer Students - Students transferring into Klein ISD should register at the school serving their attendance area. | | |

Immunization Requirements |
Hib - Children under the age of 5 years are required to have 1 Hib at 15 months or older unless a series has been completed with a booster when the child was 12 months or older.
DPT or DTaP - Students under 7 years of age are required to have 4 DPT/DTaP with one being on or after the 4th birthday.
Diphtheria-Tetanus (Td) - for students 7 years and older - 3 doses required with at least one dose on or after the fourth birthday and within the last ten years.
Polio - Children entering kindergarten must have four doses of either oral or injectable polio with one dose on or after the fourth birthday.
Measles, Mumps, Rubella - Two doses of a measle-containing vaccine with the first dose on or after the first birthday; 2nd dose needed by age 5 or entry into kindergaren.
Hepatitis B - Three doses for grades K-5 and grade 7-10.
Varicella (Chickenpox) - One dose on or after the first birthday for grades K-4 and grades 7-10.
TB (Mantoux, intradermal) - Any student who has lived outside the United States within the last year, must have a TB within the past year with test results validated by the physician's office or school nurse. This test must be performed in the United States after the student has arrived here. | | |
