Parents and Guardians |
Welcome to the 07-08 school year. The counseling staff is excited to partner with parents, students, teachers, and other staff, to ensure that each child becomes all that they can be. We are committed to the academic and personal success of every student.
We are proud to welcome Michelle Carter to our team. As Klein Intermediate’s 06-07 Teacher of the Year, she brings with her a host of talents, which enrich our team. In addition, we welcome Dr. Clara Turner, an experienced counselor from a neighboring school district. We share Dr. Turner with Wunderlich Intermediate, but she can always be found at Klein Intermediate on Mondays and Wednesdays. Maria Beeson is another welcome addition to the counseling department. She is our LPAC secretary and as such, speaks Spanish.
We challenge you to stay involved in your child’s education. Track their progress by regularly checking progress reports and report cards. Keep in touch with your child’s teachers in person, by email, or by phone. Klein Intermediate has a wide array of interventions available for students struggling either academically or personally. Contact your child’s counselor for information about how to get your child involved in these programs.
Together, we will achieve success!

School Tips |
Tip for Parents:
"Attendance is the number one school success factor and Parental Involvement is a close second. When parents are involved they are informed and students are intune with their parent's expectations."
-Middle School Parent Guidebook by Linda O'Brien
“Help set academic goals. At the beginning of each grading period, sit down with your child and figure out what grade he/she should realistically be able to earn in each course. Setting goals will give your child something specific to work towards.”
-from Middle School Parent Guidebook, 1st Edition, Woodburn Press, 2007
Tip for Students:
When someone bullies you or you witness bullying, use assertiveness skills to combat the situation and always report the incident to an adult.
Assertiveness is as simple as 1, 2, 3 . . .
1) Stand up straight.
2) Make eye contact with the bully.
3) Say, "STOP, NOW" in a calm, firm tone.
“If you have reasons to believe you are not safe, talk to a teacher, your counselor, or other school officials.”
-from School to Home Newsletter, September, 2007
