Reading Rules
Check out the following website for practice in language arts: www.internet4classrooms.com

www.kidbiz3000.com

The children need to read two kidbiz articles each week but may choose additonal articles to read for practice as well.

Grades will be recorded as daily/minor grades. The children may complete articles at home.

We are currently working on a 100 Point Project in reading that is all about a novel that the students are reading in class. They are working on the activities in class and will bring their folder and/or book home on an as needed basis. It is due May 8, 2013. It is a major grade project.

See "Project Page" for details.
A Journey Through American History
We are currently learning about the American Civil War, the causes leading to it, and the effects that resulted from the conflict. We are working on a Civil War Tic-Tac-Toe project. The children must choose 3 items horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to complete the project. It is due May 20, 2013. It is a major grade project for social studies.

See "Project Page" for details.

Simply Spelling
Spelling lists are given to the students each week. Homework assignments are due each Tuesday and Wednesday. The TEST is on Thursday.

A copy of the spelling list can be found under the Classwork/Homework/Tests tab.

SPELLING TESTS are each week on THURSDAY!!

Technology Techniques
Here's a fun website that will help your keyboarding skills become faster and more accurate:
www.learninggamesforkids.com/keyboarding_games.html

You can access www.learning.com at home as well. The students receive their technology grade by completing the assigned work from this website. If they do not complete the assigned tasks, students are in danger of making an unsatisfactory grade on their report card.

Remember Kidbiz3000.com also makes up part of the technology grade. Students need to complete a minimum of 2 articles per week.
Language Arts/Composition
The students are currently working on multi-genre writing activities including: poetry, newspaper articles, book reviews, research and expository writing.
