Hi! I'm Kendrick Avant and I teach TX History-7th grade & 8th U.S. History. This is my 2nd year at Wunderlich Middle School. I look forward not only to teaching new students, but also to learning from many of the students this year!

We've got quite a year ahead of us. 7th grade students will learn the basics of geography, focusing not only on TX, but also taking a glimpse into Mexico and Louisiana. 8th grade students will peer into our country's past looking for clues that will help us in the present. I am hoping to build upon the skills they gained last year, challenging their historical assumptions and developing their ability to formulate opinions. All of my students, of course, will focus on writing, character, and developing higher level thinking skills through response to a more Socratic method of teaching. All around, it will be a year of great growth and discovery for all involved. I look forward to the adventures that await us!
