Welcome Back
Welcome back to an exciting year with the Hilebrandt Orchestra!!! I am anxious to see all of you old and new students. There are some interesting pieces that I have found that I hope you will enjoy playing. Our first activity is one that I know that you will want to attend, our annual IT'Z Party! You will get more information on that once classes have begun.
The First Day of Class
Students do not need their instruments on the first day of classes. All violin and viola players should plan on bringing their instruments on Tuesday, August 24th. Cello and Bass students may also bring their instruments on that day if they need help getting their instruments in tune. Students should also bring their music binders on that day. Please check instruments this week for broken strings and any other minor repairs that may be needed before classes begin.

Beginning students do not need to bring an instrument until they have been fitted during the first week of classes.
Practice Makes Perfect
Perfect practice makes perfect performance! Orchestra students are expected to practice daily. It is best to find a quiet area with no distractions. This means no stereo, television, electronic games, brothers, sisters, pets and so forth. Students should make certain that their music stand is adjusted to the correct height. Music should not be placed on the floor or the bed as this promotes poor posture and bad playing habits. Students should get parent's signatures on their practice cards before the Monday morning rush begins! Select "ClassworkHomeworkTest" at the top of the page to download the orchestra practice card.
