Welcome
Welcome back to a great new year with the Hildebrandt Orchestra. I am so excited about the progress that the students are showing. Students and parents, please help insure our continuing success by making certain that instruments and music binders are at school everyday. In addition, all violin and viola students should have identification on the outside of the case and a shoulder rest.
The Hildebrandt Orchestra
Welcome to the Hildebrandt Orchestra. There are currently four different orchestras at Hildebrandt; Beginning,Concert,
Symphony and Chamber. All orchestra students will be involved in several performances and festivals during the school year. Students learn to play a string instrument as well as learn how to read music. Team work and musicianship are also emphasized.
Practice Makes Perfect
Perfect practice makes perfect performance! Orchestra students are expected to practice daily. It is best to find a quiet area with no distractions. This means no stereo, television, electronic games, brothers, sisters, pets and so forth. Students should make certain that their music stand is adjusted to the correct height. Music should not be placed on the floor or the bed as this promotes poor posture and bad playing habits. Students should get parent's signatures on their practice cards before the Monday morning rush begins! Select "ClassworkHomeworkTest" at the top of the page to download the orchestra practice card.
