Homework
Homework
Please refer to the Homework Sheet in the Homework Folder for daily assignments.

Math Facts
2nd grade students are expected to "recall addition and subtraction facts through 18" What this means is they should no longer be counting to arrive at the answers. Students are assessed throughout the year on Math Facts. They need to spend time rolling dice, using flashcards or another form of practice to improve their recall. Please guide your child to set the goal to increase the number of problems completed from a previous test. The link to the Great Gumball Machine provides a chart which may be used at home to help support this endeavor.

Reading Logs
Students are using a Reading Log, which is also located in the Homework folder. Please guide your child to complete at least 20 minutes of reading each night and record the information on the log sheet provided.

Is the homework correct?
The role of homework is to practice and reinforce concepts taught in class. These assignments are not graded, so hesitate to correct any mistakes you may see. Instead, homework can provide a powerful opportunity to assist evaluate and reinforce your child’s efforts.
