I am Ms. Drouillard and I will be one of your first grade teachers. I am looking forward to our year together. One of my favorite things to do is to read a good book and to teach my students to have a joy of reading. We will learn so many things together and travel so many places together through our reading. Your student will soon discover that "First Grade is full of Nice Surprises".

Yes indeed, reading rocks here at Mittelstadt. I will be teaching the Language Arts portion of the curriculum this year and I am excited about saturating our days with wonderful literature and phonics lessons. I can't wait to start our Literacy Circles.

Mrs. Vandergriff will be your math teacher this year. She and I are very good friends who enjoy each others company while teaching and outside of the classroom. We strive to create a "learning community" that is fun, a rich learning environment, and is also, "Full of Nice Surprises".

Klein Character Traits are an important part of our curriculum here in Klein. This is a building process to help our students find social success here at Mittelstadt as well as at home and in their everyday lives. Our first character trait this year is Respect. We will build on this trait throughout the year. This year we will be adding the "Inch and Miles" series by Coach John Wooden which helps our children on their "Journey to Success".
