Computer Access for Students: |
Hildebrandt has several computer labs which contains many of the latest math and science programs to assist student in math skills and and TAKS practice, as well as mastering the technology applications TEKS. In addition to the computer lab, the math rooms are equipped with computers to assist students in the classroom.
Students will receive a technology grade each six weeks. This grade is earned by satisfactory completion of the Learning.com assignments and accompanying activities. A new assignment and activity is given each six weeks. Mathematics is responsible for Spreadsheet activities and lessons.

Cumulative Tests: |
Each six weeks, students will take a cumulative test. This test will cover all material learned during the six weeks period. This test will be recorded as a major test grade. |

Math and Calculator Club: |
Math and Calculator Club meets on Wednesday mornings at 8:10 a.m. in room 217. Students learn number sense skills and calculator skills. Club members attend four competitions per year at Klein High School, Klein Forest High School, Klein Oak High School and the Klein Academic and Speech Contest. |

Mathematics Testing Days: |
Major test days for Math classes are Wednesdays and Fridays for the 2008-09 school year. |

Algebra I (1 unit high school credit): |
Algebra I is designed to provide a foundation for higher level mathematics courses. It emphasizes the properties and structure of math. Topics include operations with real numbers, linear equations and inequalities, problem solving, rational expressions, operations with radicals, factoring, and quadratic equations. |

Algebra I Honors (1 unit high school credit): |
This course covers the same material as the regular Algebra I class, but more advanced concepts are included in some units. Problem-solving situations are more difficult and include more variables. This course is designed for the math-oriented student and will require independent and guided research. |

Math Improvement: |
Math Improvement is an elective taken by students who have scored below an acceptable score on the TAKS test during the previous school year. It is taken in addition to the regularly scheduled math class and is designed to help the student master skills as needed. |
