French and Spanish I and II: |
Seventhth graders can take Spanish I or French I and then as 8th graders go on to Spanish II or French II. These students will receive 2 high school credits of French or Spanish. |

Exploratory Language |
Develop an appreciation for and understanding of today's world cultures and languages. Students will learn basic language skills in various languages. This class explores over 6 different languages and cultures.
Focus languages:
Spanish, French, German, Latin, Italian, Japanese.
Additional languages:
Sign Language, Braille, Esperanto, Russian, Chinese, Arabic,... |

Suggestions and Study Guides: |
Study about twenty minutes every night - especially vocabulary
Make flash cards for vocabulary, verb conjugations, pronouns, etc. and use them!
Talk on the phone with a buddy in your language.
Watch a television show or movie in your language.
Read articles from your textbook in your language out loud.
Get extra help as soon as you feel you do not understand something. Tutoring is available mornings 8:15 - 8:45 and after school upon request.
Join and stay involved with a foreign language club.
Use every minute of class time - listen to everything that is said, including your classmates' answers in the foreign language.
Label items in your house as you learn the new vocabulary. For example, table, chair, mirror, etc.
Do not get behind. Make up work within the same number of days you were absent.
Do all homework assigned carefully, completely and neatly.
