Book Lovers Club:

Chess Club:
The Hildebrandt Chess Club meets on Thursday mornings before school in Room 104 from 8:00 to 8:50. All level of players - beginning to advanced are welcome to attend. The club begins late September and ends in late April. A parent permission form must be on file before attending. Tournament information is periodically available. Community Problem Solvers (CmPS) for 6thGraders:
Community Problem Solvers is a 6th grade only club. Members identfy problems in their community and plan ways in which they can help solve those problems, fundraising and doing community service projects in the process. Future Probelm Solvers (FPS) for 7th and 8th Graders:
Future Problem Solvers (FPS) is an international organization which focuses on thinking, problem solving, writing and teamwork. Working in small groups, students examine a "future scene" and together brainstorm problems and solutions. Mustangs for Christ
Mustangs for Christ is the Christian club at Hildebrandt. Students and teachers meet together every Wednesday morning at 8:15 in the Girls Health Room. We'd love to have you join us! As well as working on an ongoing service project in our community, we'll begin our day with praise and worship music and encouraging each other to be the salt and light of Hildebrandt. Intramurals:
Recreational individual and team activities are held periodically throughout the year. Events are open to all Hildebrandt students and may be held before school, during lunch, and/or after school. Students that participate in the afternoon intramurals will have ample time to advise their parents and to arrange transportation home. There will be NO bus. Math Club:
Math club meets on Mondays mornings at 8:15 a.m. in room 219. Students learn number sense skills and problem solving skills. Club members attend up to four tournaments per year at the area high schools, as well as the Klein Academic and Speech Contest. Math Club also sponsors the team Math Counts competition held at the University of Houston in February. Our fundraiser is collecting "Boxtops for Education" put on by the General Mills Corp. Please save your boxtops from specially marked General Mills products and send them to your math teacher. For more information, contact Mrs. Solomon at jsolomon@kleinisd.net).
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
To be eligible for membership in NJHS, a student must demonstrate outstanding scholarship, character, citizenship, leadership and service. First semester grades must average at least a 90. Conduct grades should always be an"E" or an "S" in all classes. Only one "P" is allowed. Students with conduct grades of "U" will not be eligible. Students who wish to be considered for membership in NJHS must apply in the spring after notification of eligibility. This organization is open to grades 7 and 8 only. Science Club:
Science Club at Hildebrandt participates in locally sponsored activities that coincide with what we are covering in class. Being a member will help you have fun while understanding science and learning about the world around you. All current or previous Hildebrandt students may belong to science club. Speech and Drama Club:
Competitive team and individual events involving related drama and theater activities. Students must attend 2 or 4 tournaments and fill out rehearsal records weekly. Students must pass all classes, have no "P"s in conduct and no more than one "N" in conduct. Open to all grade levels. Student Council:
This is a form of student government in which the entire school is involved in activities to promote leadership, community spirit and good citizenship. Activities are held before, during and after school. All grade levels may participate. Representatives are elected in all grade homerooms. Officers are also elected each year in the spring. At large members, gaining service hours, can also join.
