Hildebrandt Cheerleading Squad:
The Hildebrandt Cheerleading squad consists of 12 people: six 7th graders and six 8th graders. There is also one mascot. The cheerleaders attend football, basketball and volleyball games as well as plan and execute all pep rallies. The cheerleaders promote school spirit by decorating the school and making posters. Cheerleaders must maintain their grades and have satisfactory conduct.

Cheerleader and Mascot Tryouts:
-Cheerleader tryouts and elections will be held during the fifth or sixth six weeks of the school year. All candidates will be screened by adult judges who are not school employees. Judges are selected by the principal and sponsor.

-Students trying out in front of the judges will perform individually or in groups of two, three or four at a time.

-The sixth grade and seventh grade candidates with the highest composite scores will be cheerleaders for the following year.
Tryout Qualifications:
Academic and Citizenship Requirements:

-To be eligible for tryouts, the student must have an overall "C" average at the conclusion of the first semester of the tryout year and at the end of each six-weeks grading period the semester the election is to be held. No student will be eligible to try out who has earned more than one "F" as a semester average during the previous semester.
-Conduct in and out of the classroom must be commendable. Students who accumulate more than one “U” in conduct in any six weeks of the current school year or at the end of the semester during the current school year, will be ineligible. No student will be eligible to try out who has served any days in the DAEP or been expelled during the current school year. If a student has been a cheerleader during the current school year and was removed from the position due to an infraction of the conduct requirements, she will be eligible to tryout for the following year if she currently meets all requirements.

Additional Requirements:

-At the time of the tryouts, the student must be enrolled in the 6th or 7th grade.
-The student must have the following completed and returned to the sponsor prior the the week of cheerleading training: A release form signed by parent or guardianand a permission slip explaining estimated expenses and other requirements, signed by the parent or guardian and returned to the school before tryouts.
-A student must have presented the current report card to the sponsor prior to the week of cheerleader training.
-A student must attend the training periods set by the sponsor prior to election.
