Qualifications of School Counselor: |
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
A master's degree in Guidance and Counseling
State certification in Guidance and Counseling by the Texas Education Agency
I am also licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors

Help students develop self-understanding, self-awareness, and self-confidence
Promote positive attitudes and choices
Counsel with students individually and in small groups
Provide guidance activities on a variety of topics
Supply referral information for parents to community agencies and/or private practitioners
Offer opportunities for parent education
Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding the special needs of students
