Go Play Labels

The Physical Education Department is collecting the Nestle Pure Life Drinking Water Labels for the Go Play Program. We will purchase recess equipment for all grade levels with the points earned. This year we collected over 19,000 points and we will be purchasing soccer balls, red playground balls, and jump ropes for recess.

Fun Runs

The Physical Education and Music Departments will be holding several Fun Runs through out the school year. The 1st semester includes the following Fun Runs:
Friday September 4th
Friday October 30th
Friday November 20th
Friday December 18th
This is a great opportunity for our students to jog, run, or walk, while listening to music. Please join us if you can. We know that your child would love to have you participating with him or her. Talk to your child to find out the time for their grade level or call us at 832-484-5832.

Health

The Physical Education Department is in charge of all health grades for the entire school (grades K-5). We have included a list of topics that we will be covering during the 1st semester:
Food for Fitness and Nutrition
Safety and Injury Prevention
Caring for your Body
Keeping Fit and Active
Your Growing Body / Muscles and Bones
All grades will have an opportunity to turn in extra credit to improve their grade. The extra credit usually involves drawing and coloring a picture in relation to our covered topics. Please encourage your child to turn in the extra credit.

CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health)

The Klein School District has adopted the CATCH program as a tool to help create a healthy school environment. We will be talking a great deal to all students about staying active and making good food choices. Students will participate in numerous activities to reinforce our discussions. We will also include Health on the Go, Because You Need to Know in the school newsletter.
Please check out the website for Go, Slow and Whoa Foods

*** Please know that you are always welcome to come and join our Physical Education class.
Go Foods
The Epps Island Physical Education Department is collecting Nestle Pure Life Drinking Water Labels. The labels are sent in and we receive points for each label. We then take the points and use them to purchase recess equipment such as soccer balls, jump ropes, basketballs, etc.for the classrooms to use at recess.

Please send the entire label with your child to school. For every 2 labels that your child turns in, he or she receives a HUG ( our incentive paper for doing great). When your child has 10 HUGS, they turn them in for a prize in our grab box.
