Greetings Epps Island faculty and staff. My name is Kelly Gonzalez, and I am thrilled to be the new assistant principal here at Epps Island.
Here's just a little bit about me. I grew up here in the Spring area and graduated from Spring High School.
I graduated from UT Austin (hook 'em horns) and taught in Austin for three years in bilingual classrooms.
For 14 years I taught in Fairfax Co., VA in their partial Spanish Immersion program, teaching math, science, and health in only Spanish.
Four years ago, my husband, Joselu, and I, being homesick, decided to move back to Texas.
I have been teaching off and on for the last four years in bilingual and General Education classes at Ehrhardt Elementary
while getting my master's in administration and raising our daughter, Gabi, who is now 2 1/2 yrs. old.
Again, I am excited to become a part of the Epps Island family and look forward to getting to know and work with each of you.
