Registration Information |
Please call the counseling office at 832-249-5687 to schedule an appointment to register a new student. Bring the following information with you:
Driver's license
Proof of residence in the KISD. A signed lease agreement, light, water, or gas bill with your name and service address is acceptable. (Telephone bills cannot be accepted.)
Copy of certified birth certificate for student(s) entering Doerre.
Guardianship is not a requirement. If there are questions, please speak with the Principal.
Copy of most recent report card, and the most recent standardized test scores.
Complete immunization records.
Students entering public school for the first time and students who have resided outside the United States within the past year must have proof of a TB skin test.
Social Security Card
Name, address and phone number of the most recent school attended. | | |

November 13
Presentation by Doerre Counselors through 8th grade Math classes on high school information and expectations.
Dec. 10 & 11
Due to ACT, the Explore testing company has not been able to produce the Explore test results. The Explore testing results should be available in January. The counselors will reschedule the Explore presentation when the results arrive.
January 8
If you would like help making 9th grade course selections or have questions about high school information, parents may start calling Doerre Counseling office at 832-249-5687 to schedule 8th grade parent/student conferences with their counselor.

January 9
Presentation by Klein High and Klein Oak counselors during 2nd period at Doerre on 9thgrade courses, credits, clubs, etc.

Jan. 10-11
Doerre Counselors meet with 8th graders through Science classes to discuss packet containing high school information and 9th Grade Course Selection Sheet. (Students will be given a packet of information to bring home for parents to read.)

Promotion Requirements |
To be promoted in grades 6 and 7, a student must attain an average of at least 70 in all core academic areas: language arts, (including reading improvement if required), mathematics (including math improvement if required), science and social studies. In addition, a student must have an overall average of 70 or above in all courses taken.
In addition to the academic requirements stated above, all 8th graders must also pass their TAKS Reading and Math tests to be promoted to grade 9. This new initiative is called the Texas Student Success Initiative (SSI). | | |
