Doerre is a Texas Recognized School!

Spring Photo Day will be on Thursday, May 17. CASH ONLY after May 11th for anything payable to Doerre. After May 11th, no more checks will be accepted.

Parents:

Please remind your child to check the honor roll and perfect attendance lists in the display cases by the cafeteria. These lists are used for the awards ceremonies. At times, computer-generated lists have errors or omissions. It's the responsibility of the student to alert the AP office of any possible errors.

There will be a lavender sheet on the stage at lunch beginning May 2 for students to fill out the possible error concern and turn into the AP office. The student needs to bring their updated report card as proof. On page 5 of the Binder Reminder are detailed instructions entitled "How to Verify Honor Roll Lists and Perfect Attendance". Please read that page before turning in the lavender sheet. If you don't have a Binder Reminder, there are extra yellow copies of this page on the stage at lunch. All possible errors must be submitted by the student to the AP office no later than May 14. Please be aware that students coming from other schools (even other Klein schools) are often omitted from these computer-generated lists. It is the student's responsibility to verify the accuracy of these lists and report any omissions or errors.

No one makes a better advocate for you, than you! Do not count on a computer-generated list. We want all the students who have earned an award to get the public affirmation that they deserve at the awards ceremony.

8th grade awards are May 23, Wednesday, at KHS theater 6:00 p.m.
6th grade awards May 24, Thursday, 9:15 a.m. Doerre cafeteria
7th grade awards May 24, Thursday, 10:15 a.m. Doerre cafeteria

Spring Photo Day

Strawbridge photography will be available to take Spring Portraits on Thursday, May 17, 2012. This is an optional photo opportunity and only students with their money envelope in hand will be dismissed from class to have their photo made.

All 6th graders may have their photo taken during P.E. or athletics classes. 7th and 8th graders who have PE/Athletics will have their photo taken during that class period. Those 7th & 8th graders who do not have PE/Athletics will have their photo taken during their elective course.

Students who have off campus P.E. may have their photos made before leaving the building. All students with money in hand should be dismissed immediately after roll is taken. Students will be given a yellow pass with the time they finished to re-enter class. No 7th or 8th grade student should miss an academic class to have a picture made.

Child Custody

Please assist us in the handling of custody related issues. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide the principal a certified copy of the court order affecting any other person's right to their children. Should you have any questions please call Cissy Saccomanno, Principal, at 832-249-5700.

Parent Link

Parents and Guardians

The Parent Link automated calling system will initiate a phone call to the parent or guardian’s “primary” phone on file for any student reported absent. Calls will be made each school day by 1:30 p.m. Therefore, the parent or guardian should call Doerre’s Attendance office at 832-249-5676 by 12:30 p.m. to report the absence. Please leave your message with name of child, their grade and reason for absence and who is making the call. REMINDER: even though these calls are initiated to the primary call number, this does not excuse the student’s absence. The parent or guardian is responsible for following up with a note, medical excuse or phone call within 5 days of absence.

If absences are not verified within the allotted time, they will be subject to the districts ‘denial of credit’ policy per class. Three (3) or more absence not verified in a 10 day period are considered ‘unexcused’ and therefore parents or guardians will be sent letters from the District Attorneys Office regarding the student’s excessive absences.

Note: If you need to up-date your primary phone at anytime during the school year, please contact Jackie Maxwell (Doerre’s Registrar) at jmaxwell1@kleinisd.net or call (832) 249-5687. If you have any questions feel free to contact the attendance office.
