Literature Circles are small groups of students gathered together to discuss a book of their choice.
In the Literature Circle setting students will:
* choose and read a book
* make connections with the book
* construct meaning together
* challenge each other in book discussions.

Generally, it will take each student approximately 4 weeks to finish the assignments in a literature circle. Students meet with me on a weekly basis, also known as our "meeting date". During the "meeting" I discuss the book with the group while stressing reading comprehension strategies. At the end of the 4 week period, a test is given to check for overall understanding of the novel.
