According to objectives outlined in Healthy People 2010, and the new Healthier US initiative outlined by President George W. Bush, increasing the amount of youth engaging in physical activity on a daily basis is vital to the health and fitness of our young people. These initiatives have become a priority for this administration and the President’s Challenge program.
By obtaining the status of Physical Activity and Fitness Honor Roll School Brill has shown a commitment to increasing student’s level of physical activity. The Brill Physical Education department and students are commended for their hard work and dedication in reaching this goal. Programs like Brill are examples of how a physical education program can make a difference in the lives of everyone involved.
Brill has served as a National Demonstration School in Physical Fitness and Sports for three years. Brill has now been elevated to the designation of Honor Roll for having maintained this level of performance in its program for the three years.
At present, Brill Elementary is the only Texas elementary that is a National Demonstration School and Brill is now the only Texas elementary school that has been named to the Honor Roll.
