Benignus Elementary School will hold its Kindergarten Round-Up on May 2, 3013. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria
Kindergarten is a readiness program that is an important part of a pupil's elementary education. The Klein ISD provides a tuition-free kindergarten program for all students in the district who are five years old on or before September 1, 2013.
Upon registration and before your child will be enrolled, you will need to bring the following documents:
Proof of residence in the Klein ISD. A lease agreement, light, water, or gas bill with your name and address is acceptable. Telephone bills cannot be accepted.
Proof of Identity. Original birth certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics preferred.
Social Security card is suggested, if available, but not required.
Immunizations for:
o Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DTP/Dt/Td) Five (5) doses of a diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis containing vaccine in any combination, one of which must have been received after the fourth birthday. If the fourth dose was received on or after the fourth birthday, only four (4) doses are required.
o Polio - Four (4) doses of a polio vaccine, one of which must have been received after the fourth birthday. If the third dose was received on or after the fourth birthday, only three (3) doses are required.
o Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Two (2) doses of MMR, on or after the first birthday.
o Hepatitis A Two (2) doses of Hepatitis A on or after the first birthday.
o Hepatitis B Three (3) doses of Hepatitis B vaccine.
o Varicella (Chickenpox) Two (2) doses of Varicella vaccine on or after the first birthday, or documentation of previous illness.
Should these documents not be available at the time of the round-up, you may register your child at a later date.
Students will be provided bus transportation to and from school by the Klein Independent School District if they individually meet the state's guidelines for eligibility (two or more miles from the school the student attends.) If a student resides in a subdivision, neighborhood, or on acreage that does not have a common border with a school campus serving the students grade level, or if the common border is a major thoroughfare, the student shall be provided transportation subject to the availability of buses and bus capacity requirements as determined by the Texas Education Agency. |
