Science Notebook Expectations |
All students are expected to keep a science notebook. All students should have a three ring binder (1" - 1 1/2") and five dividers with or without pockets. Students are expected to keep all papers in their binder in an organized manner. All papers should be firmly secured in their appropriate section. Binders will be graded once each six weeks. This is a major grade! | | |

Grade sheet/Assignment Log |
Students should have an assignment log where they record all assignments and their due dates. Students should have a completed grade sheeet to keep track of academic achievement. | | |

Vocabulary and Notes |
Students will be required to keep a vocabulary log of essential terms for success. Students should review vocabulary frequently in order to become familiar with the terms, their meaning, and how to apply them. We will be utilizing a style of notetaking called Cornell notes. All class notes should be kept in the notes section of the binder. Notes may include lecture material, reinforcement worksheets and guided practice. | | |

Tests/Quizzes |
All tests and quizzes should be corrected and placed in this section of the binder. Review of previous tests and quizzes is an excellent way for students to prepare for the district common assessments at the end of each six weeks and also for semester exams. | | |

Lab Activities |
Students should keep all lab activities in their binder. Lab activities are important because they reinforce content material and provide hands-on experiences for students. | | |

Warm-ups |
Students will have a daily warm-up question. Students are expected to summarize or copy the question, explain how they arrived at the answer, and correct their work as needed. Open note warm-up quizzes will be given every two weeks. | | |
