Alternative Classes Mission Statement |
|
|
Klein ISD Alternative Classes will provide instruction of state curriculum that includes the same essential elements as instruction given at other campuses within the district. The faculty and staff will provide a supervised, structured, and positive environment. We will encourage our students to succeed academically and develop positive attitudes, values, and life coping skills for good citizenship. This mission will be accomplished with the cooperation of parents, teachers and support staff, administrators, and the Board of Trustees of Klein Independent School District.
This mission statement was formulated by Klein ISD Alternative Classes administration, faculty, and staff in January 1994.

Just Two Rules for School |
SCHOOL RULES:
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
During each Six Weeks, students are encouraged to develop ways that they each can demonstrate our two rules for school. Teachers lead discussions and offer practical applications of ways that we can all be respectful and responsible. Don't be surprised if your student develops great interpersonal skills from modeling these applications!

Classroom Rules = School Rules (Really!) |
|
|
Teachers and staff collaborate to implement classroom rules that will lay the groundwork for each student's success in this educational setting and their home campus. Our classroom rules are:
1. Sit in your assigned seat with your own materials before the bell rings.
2. Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself.
3. Raise your hand to be recognized to speak.
4. Follow directions and remain on task.
5. DO NOT interfere with the teaching and learning of others.
Other rules that we mention are:
1. Respect others and their personal belongings at all times.
2. Follow the procedures for passing periods, restroom breaks, use of the clinic and lunch.
3. Refrain from chewing or eating any food or other articles during class time or the passing period.
Each student's behavior is evaluated on a daily point sheet every school day.
|
|
Daily Point Sheet Evaluates Student Behavior |
Students enrolled in Alternative Classes receive a daily point sheet at the start of the school day. Student behavior is evaluated each class period and points are awarded. Students must earn a minimum number of points in a day's time. Behavior categories that are evaluated are listed below with a sample of the form.
