The Houston North Bass Camp is expanding its program. This year’s camp will include high school and middle school curriculum. The camp will concentrate on correct posture, music theory, technique as well as solo and ensemble playing. Additionally there will daily sessions on the All-State Etudes
The Camp will be held at Klein High School. The date of the camp is Monday, June 16 – Friday, June 20. Camp hours are as follows:
Middle School – 8am to 12pm.
High School – 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
The Faculty
· The Houston North Bass Camp is proud to welcome Robert Black, bass instructor at the prestigious Hartt School of Music in Hartford Connecticut, as the guest instructor.
· Ron White, the camp director, has an active bass studio in Spring, Texas and is a freelance bassist.
· Chris Langhans is a graduate at the Hart Music School in Connecticut and a student of Robert Black.
· Other faculty will be announced.
There will be a concert on Friday for each level featuring all the student ensembles, the faculty ensemble and a grand finale with all the faculty and students.
The cost of the camp is $125.00, which includes all camp material. There is a $25.00 non-refundable deposit to reserve a spot in the class. Final payment is due by June 11. The camp will be limited to 16 middle school and 16 high school students. There are no auditions for the camp; the first 16 to register will be accepted. There will be a waiting list. There will be audition material included in the camp packet. Those auditions are for ensemble placement and will be conducted first thing on Monday.
