Morning carpool line When dropping off students for AM carpool, please do not unload your children before the cafeteria archway entrance.  This causes traffic to back up on Louetta Road as there is limited space in the driveway to that main road.  Please let your children out where the adults are supervising children.  Of course, on stormy days things may change.

Box Tops Contest

****This month, every person who signs up for Haude at HEB's, www.cashforyoureducation.com will earn $1 for Haude, so please sign up!****

The rest of March through April 30 we will be collecting Box Tops to "Get the PE Teachers Wet!"  It will cost 1,000 Box Tops to earn the privilege of throwing wet sponges at each teacher on Field Day.  First up is Ms. Picard.  When 1,000 Box Tops have been turned in, you will need to turn in another 1,000, to throw wet sponges at Mrs. Elder.  If you turn in all of those, next up will be Mrs. Passmore.  Sponge throwers will be selected by the PE teachers for good sportsmanship and conduct on Field Day.
A Message from the Principal at Haude
As we start the second semester, we just wanted to remind you that Attendance Counts. Every Day. Everyone! Students who are absent from school, miss out on learning. Let your child know that you think school is important and only allow them to stay home when they are sick. Please follow the guidelines for reporting absences and send in a written excuse within five days. Also make sure that your child gets to school on time daily. Having good attendance will benefit your child so remember, attendance counts, everyday...everyone!
Thanks!
Sue Schuelke
****Attendance Procedure*****Please Note

Attendance procedures have been modified slightly this year. Schools are now required to have a note from the parent after each absence within five (5) days of the absence. Because of the Klein School District’s participation in the Harris County Stay-In-School program, the note is needed to verify the absence as an excused absence. Any absence not verified by a note from the student’s parent or guardian, or a doctor’s note within five (5) days will be considered an unexcused absence. This absence will also not be eligible for consideration by the attendance committee as extenuating.

Notes sent to the school need to include the following information:
Student’s first and last name
Grade
Date of absence
Reason for absence
Signature of Parent

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept a phone call as documentation of your child’s absence. We appreciate your call, and we strongly encourage you to continue to notify the school of your child’s absence, but we also must have a note so that we may code the absence correctly.

Please refer to the Student Handbook 2011-2012 Elementary School Grades K-5. This handbook was given to your child on the first day of school. Attendance requirements are explained on pages 19-25.

If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Karen Ross, our Attendance Secretary at 832-484-5593.
