KISD Birthday Snack Guidelines

Student's love to celebrate their birthdays, and so do their parents!  If you would like to bring a birthday treat for your student's class, please note the following:

1)  Food allergies and health issues are very prevalent in children and our Klenk students are no exception.  With this in mind, you will need to plan ahead if you want to bring a snack for your child's class.  Requests must be submitted in writing 2 weeks prior to your child's birthday.  Please follow the guidelines listed in the red links at the bottom of this page (K
lein ISD Birthday Snack Guidelines).

2)  Consider choosing a healthy alternative to bakery goods, avoiding foods with limited nutritional value.  The USDA lists the following foods as having limited nutritional value: Soda water, water ices, chewing gum, certain candies, hard candy, jellies and gums, marshmellow candies, fondant, licorice, spun candy and candy coated popcorn.

3)  Avoid the hassle of food altogether and consider a non-food treat such as pencils or stickers.

Please call the school office for more information on birthdays or talk with your child's teacher.
